Game Review - WATCH_DOGS

First review already? Well I already have a plan, and here we go!

Watch Dogs (stylized as WATCH_DOGS) is an third-person action game by Ubisoft Montreal with stunning graphic performance and on its interactive next-gen system.

Watch Dog focus on Aiden Pearce, a hacker who also known as Vigilante who can hack into all kind of security system and computer in the city with only using a smartphone. Aiden manipulate the city through a system known as Central Operating System (ctOS)

In the world of Watch Dogs, information is a vital aspect as the city is linked with computer, like every place possible, start from security camera, traffic system, to personal information in every mobile devices.

This mean, connection is power, and it actually does. Aiden have a tool known as Profiler, which allow him to literally control and manipulate every electronic devices that connected to each other. This maybe nothing much more than hacking, but in the city that everything is linked together, a mere tool to hack can turn to be a power to control everything.

A World where everything is connected.

Watch Dogs have high-leveled interactive system that are one of the earliest vanguard in its era, and even featured in the launching event of PS4. This brand new technology used to create such interactive gameplay, start from gathering personal information from mobile devices, hacking securities, to even create destruction, can it be explosion or car crash.

Ever want to stop people's car by only a push of a button? Now you can!

The graphic and animation is as delightful a have and breathtaking as possible. Years ago when PS4 still doesn't have much game, Watch Dogs is like a dream come true. The graphic is jawsdropping, and even for now, still can be count as really good even if compared with the others.

Of course, the game is old enough and new competitors have been born, however, Watch Dogs still have more than just graphic. Other than the sound, animation, and gameplay, the story also excellent.

Aiden seems to be an outstanding hacker, but he have a darker past. A tragedy have fall into his family, and resulting for the death of his niece. Shaped by violence and vengeance, Aiden seek the man who took the life of his family, and want to protect his family from the tragedy to being repeated again. Now Aiden took a different path to trace the source of the tragedy and deliver your own definition of justice.

Tragedy can lead anyone for revenge, anyone.

In the city of Chichago, Aiden not the only extraordinary man there. There still many people who live in the same world and have connection on each other. What kind of people he will meet? Will Aiden ever found the killer? then finally, what he will do? Find the answer in Watch Dogs.

End yet? Nope. Now we deliver the final judgement on this game!

Story and Concept

Nothing outstanding or brilliant, but nice and well made. Start from revenge, a life for life, violence for violence.  The story is nothing complicated, but nice enough for a game on that era.

The background technology of the city is also nice with all the combination groups to make it more interesting.

Gameplay and System 

For a game on its era, the hyper high interactive gameplay is still a great invention to melt your brain. Im not saying its bad now, but at least the impact is less if you play it now rather than on its time.

The gameplay system is called next-gen, which use the interactive system into its maximal potential. Recommend for people who like to discover many possibilities than just an ordinary linear choice in your mission.

Graphic and Animation

We talking about Watch Dogs! What did you expect when you hear that name?

Do I need to explain more? The graphic and animation is so dymanic to an insane level. Its to leave you in awe on what kind of new technology could do.

Characters and Fractions 

Nothing much special about the characters, since the background is realistic. However, for a realistic story, the character is unique and inovative enough. Each characters have their own personality and difference in many things, from backrgound to goal.

Overall Rating 

Watch Dogs is a nice interactive game. Recommended for those who want a game where you can controll many things in the palm of your hand. You will have many choice to do your way, from even the simplest thing to do.

The graphic quality is top notch and for an early PS4 game, Watch Dogs have an oustanding graphic to please your eye.

The story is well made, and make you understand the feeling of the protagonist about what he experience all this time, and to understand, and finally, decide his final justice.

Everything is connected. Connection is power.

About me and my blog~

I, Crimson Scythe, dedicated this blog to give a trusted information for those who seek a good game reviews!

After the I took in the first view of the game, I will post in my analyzation of the game. The detail including the graphic, game system, and the story itself. Finally, I will give my final judgement of the game overal score to see how good the game is, and if its worth to be played.

As the name said, I update the blog for every weekend. (unless there is no game to be reviewed at the time ;p )

I use it to create my own unique theme of the blog, but I also have personal reason. Well, weekend always the best free time I had, and also the best for all of the other gamers to be free and play whatever they want. So I choose that time to serve my audience my new content, nice isn't it? :)


Site Guide~

This is the main page that I set to give the viewers a guide on the blog information. I set few tabs for most important information, like this page, the review list, and such thing.

As I said, I post a review every week, but other than a game review, I can put other post on any day. For the review, I only put it on weekend, so its should be saturday or sunday.

If I ever didn't post anything on that time, its mean that either there is no game to be reviewed, im way too busy, or maybe something else happened....


Review System~

This blog have its own unique way to review things.

First of all, I will use a correspondent and relevant picture on the paragraph before the picture, this mean that the picture is about or still related with the things we talk on that paragraph.

I always put the game cover art on the beginning, this already my standard. I also try to put a picture for every few paragraph to prevent my review for being simply a wall of text.

Now are the main part I need to tell you. My review use star point to give a rating to the game. I divide this part into 5 part;

• Story and Concept - We're talking about the most important thing of a story, its the story itself and the concept! Without them, a game would be just like an empty case that even if its entertain or amuse you, you got no memorable impression to remember about how nice the story is.

• Gameplay and System - The core of a game is of course on how fun the game is. We talk about how the gameplay is. Is it innovative? Is it new? Stagnant? Boring? Amazing? Gameplay is like the main dishes, and story is the recipe. Each game may have their own unique system, like on the action or interface, and we also review that part.

• Graphic and Animation  - Its all about visual! On how nice and clear things is, on how real or vivid the graphic is, and on how the animation work. Start from environment, character animation, movement, items, and other things are reviewed here. Graphic and all maybe not the first thing to be count when you consider playing a game, but a visual is also the key to make people enjoy playing it!

• Character and Fractions - If this is food, character is the ingredient. Who are the main character, secondary and the rest. About their personalty and design, and also their communication and such things related to the characters to another. They may on one side and the other, like antagonist or protagonist, good or bad, and that are the meaning of fraction. This is all make the diversity of the game, and also connected with the story script as well.

• Overall Rating - The final judgement, the overall rating. I calculate the point and generalize it, in other words, the final result of the review. It can be said as a short summary of the review, about the pros and cons, and in the end, about why the game is good or bad.

Sometimes, I also like to put many picture and make a gallery as a bonus somewhere on the review page. In order to not making the page too long, I put them on a spoiler tag button (those hide and show button via clicking)
