Pardon me for no update, now changing condition~

Well I haven't updating for weeks...

While felt bad, I also have no wonder by seeing my condition.

The laptop I usually use are broke, the one I use to start this blog are not mine, so it was returned to the owner.

I online daily with limited time on internet cafe. Its far from enough to write a blog, especially when I have other things to do. Those things are hardly done with me keeping up, even if my financial is on crisis.

I finally have some chance now, and I write this for updating the blog info.

For now on, I will still write review, but not every week or two. It posted anytime I have time, but still on ever weekend.

Hope I can write more soon, the condition is really bad now T_T

Game Review - Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor

Been a really long time since I make review.... Its finally done, and it took two weeks because I simply have hard time online

Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor is an action role-playing video game set in The Lord of the Rings universe, developed by Monolith Productions and released by Warner Bros.

Playing as Talion, a ranger captain of Gondor garrison who guard the Black Gate. He then murdered by Sauron's Uruk force. Talion later than revived with Wraith abilities.

Talion's family are sacrificed as an attempt to summon the greatest Elven smith in the Second Age, Celebrimbor. In the twist of truth, Celebrimbor instead merge with Talion, which result of his power, and also the reason why he saved from the death.

Talion and Celebrimbor working together.

Even more, Celebrimbor have lost his past memories, and without knowing, Talion and Celebrimbor are on the journey to seek Celebrimbor's memory, and to avenge Talion's family.

Later on, Talion meet with more allies, such as Lithariel, Hirgon, Ratbag, and Gollums. They have their own distinct personality, and have their own goals to be fulfilled.

Not only they, even the smallest enemies can also have their own unique traits. This is possible because the Nemesis System, a system that affect the enemies and other NPCs that you interact.

How Nemesis System work in the game.

Depend on what you do, they may change their behavior in the future to react your decision. Some may seek revenge, and other may tend to help you instead.

The gameplay itself is beautifully dynamic. Nice graphic, smooth animation, and awesome effect. The spectral glows because of your abilities is something else in the middle of ugly dirty uruk and other monsters.

The abilities granted to you because of your wraith abilities help a lot in your quest in the Mordor. It allow you to work together with Celebrimbor to do extra attacks, absorb enemies power, controlling them, assassination, various moves, and many more.

You can do many things with your wraith abilities, including this.

Other than abilities, you could also get Weapon Runes from the enemies, and usually are dropped by a high leveled one. Runes is to upgrade Talion's three main weapons; Sword, Bow, and Dagger. Runes are divided into two type.

Regular Runes is the common one and its have leveled bonus, depend on the level of the enemies.

Among all, there is an Epic Rune, that are rare and very valuable. Its only dropped by the best of the enemies only, and its also still not guaranteed to be there for every kill.

An epic Rune.

Can Talion will ever achieve his revenge? What is the lost memory of Celebrimbor? Can they win against the army of Sauron? Find it on Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor.

Yeah I know its pretty much incomplete, I will continue it tomorrow :3

Sorry, my condition is really bad now~

Change of schedule

Due to my bad condition, I have hard time to barely online everyday...

Since it will be hard to review things for now, I will be saying that I need to do something.

The official submitting plan is changed from 1 review every week to 1 review every 2 week.

If there is anymore problems or situation change, the pace maybe will be changed again. I will update if that happened, so please be patient for now.

Thank you and sorry for the inconvenience! (btw, the next review is about Lord of the Ring! guess what the game?)

This isn't good...

Well... I always write review using laptop...

All this time, my internet is on bad condition....

Not like this enough, and now my laptop gone. Well, thats technically not mine, so it returned to the real owner as my time to use it end.

I don't actually have time limit, its something else....

Well, lets not discuss that, because what I meant to say is I will have hard time review things by now.

With this emergency condition, there will be a time when my review won't be posted on weekend. I want to do that, but thats against the policy of this blog.

So I don't have any other choice but to not upload review for some weeks unless its really finished on that time.

Thanks for the understanding.

Game Review - Castlevania: Lord of Shadow

Just because the the other review from before is all about realistic game with mostly realistic setting and graphic (unless Dishonored), doesn't mean i'm not a fan of fast-paced action game with fantasy setting. In, they are one of my favorite!

So here, I am going to review one of Castlevania game, the series that I have been played since I was a child...

One more thing. People will probably ask why I did not review the second game, but i'm feeling like starting from the first one before the second later. An additional reason is because I want to play the second one first, so i'm not going to review it until i'm done with it.

Castlevania: The Lords of Shadow is the first new generation of Castlevania series with its installment on PS3. Developed by Mercury Steam and Kojima Production (yes, you read that right), Castlevaia: Lords of Shadow is an action-adventure game with Gabriel Belmont as the main character.

Set on the middle ages, the force of darkness have been taking control of the world. Gabriel Belmont from The Brotherhood of Light are traveling in his quest to both revenge of his wife, and salvation of the world.

Gabriel Belmont in one of the places during his long journey.

Gabriel are sent by the brotherhood to meet the guardian of the lake, Pan, in order to meet his deceased wife, which seems to hold the key to defeat the three evil lords; The Lords of Shadow.

Gabriel meet his wife, Marie, and discovered the prophecy of a pure-hearted warrior will save the world by defeating the Lords of Shadow and gaining their power.

He travel a long journey just to get into his first destination. The beautiful surreal world beyond his eyes and numerous ferocious enemies are against him in the way. In the gameplay manner, this make the game to be not too monotonous, as even a simple task could lead into a whole new adventure, and giving enormous experience in both eye and mind to the gamer.

Each level is beautifully crafted, start from simple village, ruin, forest, to even a dead bog could be amusing to our eyes with such amazing graphic.

Visiting the Lake of Oblivion, where Pan reside. Enjoy the breathtaking view before proceed.

Later on, Gabriel meet Zobek, a founding member of the brotherhood (and for additional info, the also the narrator of the game.), which wish to aid Gabriel in his journey, as he is said to be an old friend of Pan.

In order to finish his goal, they need to defeat the three Lords of Shadow; the Lord of Lycans, Lord of Vampires, and Lord of Necromancer.

To defeat the dark forces and everything that against his path, Gabriel are armed with Battle Cross, and other secondary weapons such as holy water and knives. They are upgradeable and can be combined with Dark and Light magic.

Use various weapons and do powerful combo with many other powerful skills!

In order to upgrade the magic, there are hidden gems that can be obtained in many secret places. Light Gems for upgrading Light Magic, Dark Gem for dark magic, and Life Gem to upgrade your health.

As with your powerful armament, the enemies are also even more powerful. Devastating titans, crazy murderous undead monsters, witch, werewolf, and more. In Castlevania Lord of Shadows, you get the most epic battle compared with the predecessors, making God of War to looks like an old timing news.

You need to attack on the certain weak spot, typical.

The battle are BEYOND dynamic, beautiful, and for god sake they looks so cinematic, to the point that it confuse me to use which image and screenshot in this review. I mean, damn, they all looks so tempting to be shared!

It maybe not as much compared to the sequel, and it maybe not really that good if people already getting used playing with PS4. However, I agree with many others that Castlevania: Lords of Shadows have one of the most greatest fantasy graphic on its era. The mesmerizing beauty of the environments can't be compared with other action game.

Why everything need to look so beautiful? Even this trivial decorations!?

In this state, its just about time before this review flooded with cinematic screenshots. I probably will make something like a gallery again below....

Anyway, I have no bad things to say about the gameplay, since I am a fan of action-adventure games, but doesn't mean it affect my judgement of the game. Lords of Shadow is indeed a great game, even for an action-adventure in fantasy setting, it have one of the best graphic, at least when its released.

Every Castlevania game are well known in their unexpected ending and plot twist, which what I really enjoy, so I won't spoil anything here, and I hope I really will have the chance to play the game someday.

Anyway, I definitely look forward to play this game later, and you guys should!

Now, its time for those stars to appear again~

Story and Concept

As expected from a gothic fantasy game like Castlevania, it didn't disappoint me. The story is a well made even from the basic start, with solid plot and storyline, then adding additional details with various interesting characters, various sides and organizations, then filled with plot twist in many point to make it all perfect to be experienced for the gamer.

Fantasy game usually have the best story, as it didn't tied with the normal world anymore. It can be as fantastic as possible, with every concept and design by their own, and especially, that you can freely made your story as creative, as crazy, as unexpected as possible.

You make your own organizations, group, fractions, peoples, ethnic, tradition, civilizations, belief, nature, and everything. This make you can control what you need to dish on your story, and make the most unbelievable plot twist as you want.

Castlevania are well known on its complicated amazing story, and filled with many plot twist to make everything unexpected. One of the best is Castlevania Symphony of the Night and Castlevania Order of Eclesia, which both have an extreme twist in the main plot.

This time, Lords of Shadow do the same. I won't spoil much, and heck, i'm not even playing it (but hey, I usually review without even need to play the game). Imagine, without playing it and without get much spoiler, I already know the story will be really nice.

Gameplay and System

Castlevania have fast, dynamic and solid gameplay. As an action third-perspective game, we are familiar with God of War and Devil May Cry, which all both have similar taste.

Fun, filled with fast-paced action battle, Castlevania deliver an epic journey with an epic battle. The quest of Gabriel and his battle against various enemies will make your jaws dropping with gigantic enemies and fantastic epic battles.

I am a fan of action game myself, so its not a wonder if I really favor a game like this, especially remembering that I have been played the other Castlevania game, and I like it so far.

I like it, but doesn't mean it really have some innovative gameplay and system. I do admit its good and it have some unique movement and those things, but doesn't matter how I like it, it doesn't change the fact that its just a simple action game. Don't get me wrong, I like it!

If you up for some full adrenaline game with some blasting action, ten you up for this game.

Graphic and Animation

True that Castlevania: Lords of Shadow is a PS3 game, and not like its realistic... but for a game on that type, Castlevania is beyond beautiful for me.

Combination of creative design, decorations, beautiful landscape and natural environment, they all are like a crystal to my eyes, that while imperfect, are already beyond great.

I don't think I need to say further, a fantasy game with all those creative design is already enough to make us go OHHHHHHH~ with those fantastic concepts, and now mixed with a clear and solid graphic to deliver us an art in the form of an action game.

I can't simply explain it with a mere words, you need to see with your own eye on how BEAUTIFUL the environment of CLoS, which is WAY better than its predecessors Castlevania games.

You need to see it yourself, so I make a gallery in the end. Please enjoy all the detail in your screen, and make sure its on large view, so click them first or open in new tabs! :)

Characters and Fractions

When its a fantasy game, doesn't matter what the setting, we always will expected various unique characters. Can they be having weird powers, interesting out-of-the-ordinary appearance, crazy personalities and with their own groups, that possible could be even crazier with all the epic plot and stories.

I don't need to sort them all by how insane their design or how awesomely powerful they are. Gabriel, Pan, Zobek, everything is interesting on fantasy game! This genre is like the "shonen genre" of game, where the design, start from power, appearance, back stories, and everything can be so diverse.

As with the personalty, Gabriel and Pan have an outstanding point. They sacrifice WAY too much for someone else, and for the good of all. Just find it out by playing it by yourself.

Anyway, the fractions are interesting, start from the brotherhood to the lords of shadow itself. With all of this interesting variations of characters (including the enemies and bosses), I will give a perfect star right here.

Overall Rating

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow is a good fantasy game, with great overall rating. As a fan of Castlevania series, I am proud to make a review for this game, and I look forward to get it on my hand to play it.

With beautifully crafted world, diverse character, creative concept and design, solid story with unexpected plot twist, then poured into a fast-paced action game with awesome movements and attacks, fun and simple, yet also innovative for a game for a game that similar with type such as "hack and slash". (this Castlevania is not a hack and slash, but the 2D predecessor is.)

I am amused by the story and design, they could wrap a story that can be simply resumed, then its expanded greatly with various places and various quest. No doubt, I will be playing it with excitement to know more about the world, heck I am a fan of a fantasy game after all.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow also have excellent visual graphic, especially on its environment. They manage to make even an old buildings and valley full of stones into a breathtaking cinematic experience to please your eyes with the beauty of the world. Full of diversity from snow mountains, dark castles, deep forest, to some deadly swamp or refreshing view of a lake.

How this quest will end? Can Gabriel defeat the Lords of Shadow? Can he save the world and who are the secret mastermind behind this all? The answer wait on Castlevania: Lords of Shadow.

I actually finish this one... yesterday, im afraid I can't finish it, but today, I manage to do it.

Since i'm busy this week and due to many unexpected problems, I am having problem to continue the review. Gladly, with lots of effort, I can finish it today.

One thing though, I can't make the gallery for today, so wait for few more days please :3

UPDATE: okay im done with the gallery and few other updates, you can see them now.

I will now show you, the amazing graphic that I keep mentioned. All this beautiful environment, epic battles, interesting designs, and et cetera.

Don't forget to full view them! Some pics are small, but some are wallpaper sized, and need to be seen on full view in order for you to see its full impact.

I told you those nature are great. Some image does make me think twice, but its probably because of the low quality of the jpg. image.

Anyway im done now. So, what is the next review?
